Product Description

The Armored Core series is renowned in the mech action genre for its intense one-on-one battles and customization options. Armored Core 5 is a new entry that revolutionizes the series with more content than the previous games, a completely new atmosphere, and a robust offline mode. In addition, the online mode has been newly designed to focus on huge team-based battles on a global scale. Featuring mechs or "Armored Cores" that are smaller in scale than in previous games, Armored Core 5 centers more on tactics and effectively utilizing the geography of a level rather than just relying on attacks. Defend and conquer territories: Prepare for enemy invasion! Online players can invade your Territory even when you're not online. Set Your Defense System strategically to fight automatically against other players and protect your dependency. When you're online, fight in PvP online team battles to defend against enemies invading your territories. Most complete Multiplayer Mode: The game supports cooperative mode on all missions such as “Destroying a Target" or "Investigation". Team Gameplay is encouraged (5 simultaneously with up to 20 in a team). In World Mode, confront each other for world domination. Offensive Gameplay: Gameplay has been totally revamped to offer a more powerful offensive attacking experience. Ultimate customization: The game offers countless parts to collect for an incredible level of mechanic customization. Customize your Territory for Upper Rank Missions with Defense System variations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely fun

Took a while to arrive but definitely worth it.

I've always enjoyed mecha-themed games and this is a definite improvement from ACIV.
Long-time fans of the AC franchise will not be disappointed, it definitely brings everything
you'd want to the table. Although it does feel lacking in some places for example the
equipment does feel a little constrained and limited.

Online is pretty much required so if you're looking for a game you can enjoy offline this
probably won't be it. Don't misunderstand me, it does have a single-player and optional
missions but the majority of it will be online, so teamwork and a bit of socializing with the
community is needed to get your money's worth.

For those of you looking to platinum the game - which there always are - this game is a
pretty simple platinum and easily accomplished if you put your mind to it.

All in all a good game and worth the money, you can't really go wrong at this price.

I don't recommend it if you dislike team games or working with other people but if that
doesn't bother you go ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game

As a fan of the series, I knew what I was getting into.
You pilot an AC (Armored Core), customise your weapons and then go into battle fulfilling mission objectives.

There is a wide range of weapons to choose from as well as "Heads" to detect enemies and "Legs" to carry your weight. You need to be careful what you combine as the smallest change makes a huge difference and gives you the winning advantage.

It arrived quickly, mint condition. Overall, a great game.

Love the series. AC4 took the franchise to new hights (literally) and ACV takes it back to basics with great visuals, fastpaced solid gameplay mechanics and brings a new level to the Emblem design (seriously). The mechs are smaller than previous versions but they manage to keep the feel of being inside a powerful giant robot suit that would use tanks as rollerskates. A must have for Mecha Fans

4.0 out of 5 stars The Mecha Game Of the minds that are willing to create there own...

This Game plus the 4 answer series (which has nothing to do with the review in anyway XD ) is the awesome for those who loves the idea of a man to pilot the Custom mecha of choice....

Customizable parts added with online content of being an operator...... Sounds like a simulation for an actual war veteran to control states and actual mecha pilots and issue orders via microphones....

Storyline isn't bad - tad good - but it doesn't throw in the "awe" factor...

It would be awesome if Armored Core 7 will be based on a brilliant storyline about a 13 year old -God Worshiping child, not known to the world created his own mecha.....
13 year old scientist .... XD

And pilots the thing..... calls into the micro phone and yells "you people are so mean" and other pilots and enemy pilots wonder in asunder "What the, is that a child???"

Awesome idea eh?

1.0 out of 5 stars Chromehounds anyone?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 18, 2013
Sorry but i have been a huge armored core fan for years (ever sine i got a demo with the original armored core on it for the playstation 1), and this is nothing but a massive let down.
The only way i can describe it is that, its almost as if they took the team that came up with the atrocious chromehounds (remember that steaming pile of ....), and then let them loose in their workplace and released what they came up with without looking!
The AC's are hideous to control clunky and awkward to move unlike previous games, the graphics are poor and dark and make it hard to follow fast moving enemy AC's.
If you are a fan of the series like me i would avoid this crap and get AC4 and AC for answer, far better games unfortunately they don't have trophy support but its a cheap price to pay for far superior games.
