De Earth Defence Force, een gezamelijk multinationaal leger, word gevormd na het ontdekken van een buitenaards bezoek voor het geval dat de buitenaardse wezens kwade bedoelingen hebben. In het jaar 2017 bleek dit zo te zijn, de EDF vocht hevig tegen de Ravagers, een ras van reusachtige insecten, robots, UFO's en gigantische reptiel monsters. Acht jaar na het verslaan van de laatste Ravager in Arizona, vallen ze weer aan met nieuwe monsters. Onder deze monsters vind je Retiarius, een spin-achtig wezen dat grote spinnenwebben en gigantische bijen maakt. In het jaar 2025, met de EDF de aarde wederom verdedigen tegen de buitenaardse invasie.
